Big Data Analytics for a Leading Analytical Instrument Company

Challenge

The increasingly complex process of examining data to uncover information and insights – such as hidden patterns, correlations, market trends and customer preferences – requires knowledge of newer technologies which many companies lack. Our client, a leading US-based analytical instrument company engaged us to upgrade their systems to improve the quality of their analytics and reporting to:

• Predicting future Sales,

• Identify current trends and more readily discern the areas of improvement,

• Provide clearer and more concise reports to management,

• Make data more accessible.

Scope

The scope of this project encompassed the development and implementation of BI reports based on the requirements and specifications provided by the client. As part of the upgrade of the reporting system, this included:

Understanding the data environment, infrastructure and sourcing, as well as documenting business requirements for the reports, 

• Development of wireframe, 

• Design and development of reports, 

• Creation of test cases,

• Testing of the reports, 

• Review report with users,

• Production deployment and support.

Solution

Mindteck developed a reporting mechanism, visualization and an auto data updating process for the raw data to be ingested, analyzed and then visualized. We proposed multiple options on providing visualization using multiple industry-preferred tools such as Power BI and Einstein for Salesforce.
