Web enabling interactive voice recording system
About The Customer
The Customer owns and operates a large network of convenient stores in the US.
The Challenge
The IVR is an automated phone system used by the convenient stores to receive orders from dealers. The objective of the IVR-web project was to web enable the IVR system, thereby providing a web interface for placing orders by the dealers.
The Solution
The IVR-Web was developed using Microsoft .NET technology. The GUI was based on ASP.NET and business logic was implemented using VB.NET. The application communicates to a central Oracle database. The system implemented role based access allowing only authorized dealers to login to the system and access product information according to their profile. Dealer's data is protected against unauthorized access.
The Benefits
The IVR-Web application was much more user friendly as compared to telephonic system. The form based GUI was intuitive and easier to use.
The user of IVR-Web application could interact with the system, view and crosscheck orders before submitting. Similarly monitoring order status was easier.
The computations were automated for example the dealer could see the closing balance of various products immediately after entering the data.
The Web based system implemented role based access to the system, allowing only authorized dealers to use the system according to their profile.
Dealers could view the report in a tabular form.
