The challenge was to create a tool to automate the
conversion of data-heavy rulebooks into a searchable, electronic format.

The Solution
|
The rulebooks of maritime organizations
define the various controlling guidelines and rules to be followed
from the starting phase to construction, covering the entire life
cycle of the ship. This project involved converting the MS Word documents
into the XML format. The application has a search engine to locate
content. It allows surveyors to search for specifications by different
parameters, like chapter, title, section as well as engine information,
basic dimension, pressure diagram and many more parameters.
