About The Customer

The customer is a global test and measurement solutions and services provider. Customer provides test, measurement and monitoring devices, semiconductor products and chemical analysis tools that are invaluable in research and development, manufacturing, installation and management.

The Challenge

The customer required a regression test suite for their IDE software. Customer did not have a software testing tool and required a cost effective solution.

The Solution

Initially IDE testing tools were evaluated and Abbot was selected. A regression test suite for unit testing of the IDE software was developed using Abbot testing tool. The unit test scripts were to test all the wrapper classes of the IDE software for common swing functionality. Then a regression test suite for system testing of the IDE software was developed using Abbot testing tool. The system test scripts were to test all the functionality of the wrapper classes of the IDE software.

The Benefits

The automated test scripts were built as regression test suites and hence they could be executed for every build automatically. This reduced the IDE software testing time after every build.
