The customer is a large building society.
It offers a broad range of retail financial services including mortgages,
savings, current accounts, life assurance and investment products,
personal loans and household insurance.

| The Challenge |
|
The existing application was written on legacy COBOL running on
a Unisys Mainframe environment. The application required changes
as part of application maintenance .

The Solution
|
This project involved carrying out a number
of changes to the COBOL code running on a Unisys Mainframe. Some of
the changes incorporated include automation of the determination of
the Batch Date, conversion from open reel tape to disc for SPLITAPE
processing, amending all answerable messages using CONMESS and message
rationalisation.

This assignment was undertaken as pilot for the Euro conversion
project and the customer requirements were successfully fulfilled
on time.
