| About The Customer |
| Our customer is a leading provider of field monitoring systems including environmental monitoring systems. In a continuing partnership for almost two years, our dedicated development team has been offering multiple services to the customer along different points in the product development trajectory.
|
| The Challenge |
| The customer needed a software package that supported multiple test setups on the customer’s line of water quality and level measurement instruments. The test results should be viewable and analyzable as graphics and text. The results would be available online and in the form of historical data. Other requirements included monitoring alarms, serialized log file system, printing of display data, total Unicode compliance and data synchronization between the instrument and the PC/PDA. Our team was chosen to design and develop the software after satisfying several criteria such as iterative development approach, incremental release strategy, reduced time-to-market and resource arbitrage.
|
| The Solution |
In this engagement, Mindteck’s offshore team designed and developed software running on Windows 2000/XP PCs and Windows Pocket PC mobile-ready PDA (that communicates with MSP430 based single board instruments). The PC application used MSVC++ 2005 language, and the PDA, eVC ++ 4.0 language. Also, the IoComp charting tool was used. Communication was carried out via Ethernet/RS-485. Serialized objects ensured persistent data storage.
