The Challenge

Our team took over the complete product support and enhancement activities for a specific product. The tool provides capability to compare system configurations of tools and generate the complete event log report in a user-friendly format.

Some of the challenges were:


	Maintain compatibility of the product across variety of semiconductor manufacturing tools
	Generate user-friendly reports based on configuration items and event logs
	Incorporate complete decode of the configuration items in the absence of any documentation
	Support new tool types without changing overall structure as well as GUI

The Solution

The project involved studying the organization of system configuration items and event logs for various tools. Our team provided a unified solution for comparing the system configuration items for variety of tools and generating comprehensive reports in excel format. In addition, complete description of all events in a user-friendly format is generated. GUI was enhanced to suit the additional tools supported.
