| The Challenge |
| The customer planned to take the market with the next generation of digital capture high definition systems for recording and archiving high definition images and videos of medical procedures. The system would incorporate improved look and feel, easy workflow setups, modular and scalable architecture, and multilingual support. It would be accessible via camera, infrared remote (IR) and Sidne interfaces, and touch screens. LCD and OSD monitors will display the output. Faced with intense time-to-market and feature-enrichment pressures, the customer turned to our team for assistance.

The Solution
|
A full dedicated team commenced with software design and development. Post the design, the software supported new case creation, current case modification, and prior case viewing/saving/deletion. An IR remote control performing various operations was also supported. The required modules were loaded and the user interface screen displayed on the LCD. SK18 cards were used to capture notifications from the IR remote. An enhanced touch-screen GUI was in place. The system supported a camera interface, namely the R1/R2 camera buttons, which captured images and videos, and wrote the case data on various storage media. Software upgrades from USB dongle, CD/DVD or SMS site (network) were possible.
Further feature enrichments - such as voice annotation via a wireless device
management interface, emailing pictures and reports, advanced 2D/3D DICOM
industry standard viewer with brightness, contrast, pan and zoom - are on the
cards.
