| About The Customer |
Customer is a Singapore based manufacturer of water
quality instruments such as pH meters, conductivity meters, dissolved
oxygen meters, ion meters, turbidity meters, TDS meters and thermometers
for use in agriculture, aquaculture, hydroponics, aquariums, fish-farming,
laboratory, swimming pools, water and waste-water treatment and
food processing industries. |
| The Challenge |
The industrial research instrument was based on
Windows CE.NET operating system with 640x480 pixel VGA or better
resolution display (~7.5" diagonal). The requirement was to
develop application software for signal conditioning and display
on the instrument. In addition to the analog connectivity touch
screen control, Ethernet LAN/WAN connectivity, USB host client connectivity,
serial RS232 connection, IrDA connectivity, memory interface (SDCard,
mass storage), audio decoding were the other features required in
the device. The instrument was to be accessible for remote configuration
and monitoring. The GUI had to meet palm top / pocket PC based standards.
Standard Microsoft features that exist on a palm or pocket PC were
to be made available. The instrument had seven different configurations
selectable by the user. The Device was to support multiple languages.
Data logger unit would provide all the storage and retrieval of
information in the instrument. A context sensitive help would be
provided, which will display help information depending on the context.
