| About The Customer |
| A provider of microprocessor cards and point-of-sale terminals with a dominant presence in markets such as telecom, public telephony, finance, retail, transport, entertainment, healthcare, personal identification, information technology and the public sector.
|
| The Challenge |
| The access client software constituted the basis of customer’s smart cards by supporting smart card-use on diverse operating systems, card functionalities and standards, and compatible authentication. Notwithstanding the high performance of the access client software, it made sense for the customer to offer select features, instead of the entire software, especially for users on-the-go. Authenticating such users, before login, using a one-time-password (OTP) portal was critically important. However, there were serious challenges to be navigated such as integrating access client software and the OTP, for instance.
|
| The Solution |
We created the user and admin modules of the stand-alone, 4-module OTP portal. The modules were purpose-built to accept the card in the first place and next, generate/display a one-time password for the user to enter in the OTP field during secured logins. Java, JSB and EJB were some of the underlying technologies while the standard used was the Euro Master Visa (EMV). We are currently migrating the modules to superior OATH standards.

| The Benefits |
| Apart from cost arbitrage, our solution ensured that users on-the-go could avail of select features without buying the entire access client software.
